What the Dunfermline Taxi App is
The Dunfermline Taxi App is a local taxi booking app for Dunfermline, Fife. It has been available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android phones since October 2026, and it’s free to download.
In the app you book a standard car for up to 4 passengers, either for now or scheduled in a 30-minute slot between 07:00 and 22:30 on any day in the next 7 days, including today. Local journeys and journeys to or from Edinburgh Airport are both booked in the app, and you see your fare before you pay. For groups of 5 to 8, ask for an 8-seater quote on WhatsApp.
How your bookings are handled
Every booking in the app follows the same steps, from your request to your driver’s details.
You request a journey
Enter your pickup, up to 3 stops and your destination, then choose Pickup now or Schedule for later.You see your fare first
The app shows a fixed fare that you accept or decline. If the app can’t price a journey automatically, our dispatch team sends the fare to the app.You pay in the app
By card, or Apple Pay on iPhone, through Stripe. Your booking enters dispatch only after Stripe confirms the full payment.Our dispatch team assigns a driver
You then see the driver’s name, the vehicle’s make, model and colour, and its registration.You get booking updates
The app sends booking-status notifications and keeps your upcoming and previous bookings together.
A submitted request is not guaranteed until the app confirms the booking or a member of the team confirms it with you.

How we treat your data
Your data is used to run your account and your bookings, not for advertising.
No advertising tracking
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising. The app uses no separate analytics, crash-reporting or advertising service.Location only when you choose
Location is optional and used only when you attach your current position to a pickup. The app does not use location in the background.Card details go to Stripe
Card and Apple Pay details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by the app.Your rights
Your UK GDPR rights apply, and you can delete your account in the app or through our account deletion page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
